A Message from the Reverend Kevin Rogers

Greetings: At Horsington Church School we see all truth as God’s truth, and all people, no matter what their age as full human beings made in God’s image.  We want our learners to grow in every aspect of their life and being – and so to grow in self-esteem and develop their full potential.  We want them to have that balance of independence, and yet recognise the strength of community.  So for us it is important that we are a community of learners.  All people, young and old, perform best and grow best is an environment that is caring, secure and stimulating – allowing curiosity, and giving the skills to exercise it.  God has given us the ability to dream dreams – and we want our learners to dream great dreams, and achieve great things.

St. Johns Church

Statement of Religious Ethos

Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

Our Village

As a village school we have strong links with the community we serve.  Although many of our pupils come from outside the villages of Horsington and South Cheriton, we play an active part in village events.  Members of the community come into school to talk to the children and we take our children into the village for local and environmental studies.
