An afternoon of games followed by a party tea!
Before tucking into the scrumptious food in the main building, Reception and Key Stage 1 enjoyed their own private party in Air Class. After changing into party clothes and putting on our party hats, we enjoyed the first public appearance of our star guitar player, who was absolutely amazing! Then we had a good old dance to some classic Christmas tunes (as well as requests for the Macarena, Gangnam Style and Uptown Funk, of course) and played a few games.
After seeing some of the children’s very interesting dance moves, I have no doubt that the next school disco will be incredibly energetic, highly creative and very sweaty.
Our ‘Bedtime Stories’ evening went down a treat with all of the staff and children who came. The children were split into 6 different groups, each enjoying a story from two different members of staff, with some yummy cocoa and biscuits in-between. Despite some scary rumours that it was a ‘sleepover’ (😳) thankfully everyone was picked-up and no doubt went straight to bed.
Welcome to everyone in and joining Water Class. We also welcome our new class pet, Tommy The Tortoise.
I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday.
This is what we shall be learning about this term in Water Class.
This term we shall be going in The Spinney on a Wednesday. At some point during this term we shall be visiting Stourhead to look at the Autumn trees, I will give you more detail nearer the time.
All of the Year 1s from both Water Class and Air Class got together again this morning. We worked together trying to solve a problem. We had to build a table and chair from multilink cubes. Doesn’t sound too bad… 2 of us working together, 1 makes a table, 1 makes a chair 😎👍. BUT, you had to be able to tuck the chair in so that it fitted nicely under the table. Eeeeek! 😳
Eventually, by working really well as a team, we managed to make it all fit together. Hooray! 👏😃
What a fantastic morning we had in Air Class! With most of the school spending the morning in their new class, we were finally able to to spend some time together as the Air Class of 2017. We all already know each other quite well of course, one of the big advantages of being in such a wonderful, little village school, but it was nice to be together properly as a group for the first time.
On Thursday 14th July 2016, Water Class will be going on a trip to Moors Valley Country Park.
